Pre-Assessment

Every Investors in Pupils assessment includes an element of pre-assessment, as each assessment is subject to school self-review as well as a telephone interview with the Assessor matched to the school.

In addition we offer three distinct levels of pre-assessment support and advice:

Option 1: Attend an open morning event at an Investors in Pupils accredited school in your area.

An opportunity to see first hand the work that another school has done to gain some inspiration and take new ideas back to your own school, as well as talk to the staff and pupils involved.  These events are held regularly around the country.  Please see [insert link here] or send an email contact enquiry to find out about events near you.

“Thank you for sharing your experience.  Very useful.”

“It was great to see ‘Investors in Pupils’ in action.”

“Very informative and showed how we can differentiate across the school.”

“Excellent knowledge shared.”

Cost £95 per delegate

Option 2: Pre-assessment phone call.

A 45 minute pre-arranged telephone call with a qualified assessor.  The assessor will arrange a format tailored to your needs and would usually focus on areas for support and an area of strength as identified in your school action plan or self-evaluation.  The phone call is followed by a short email summary sent no later than 10 working days of the phone call.

Cost £95

Please email InvestorsinPupils@leeds.gov.uk to arrange.

Option 3: Pre-assessment visit.

Pre-assessment visits take place at your school and are undertaken by qualified assessors.  They are around 2 hours and followed by a short assessment report that highlights any strengths and areas for development evidenced on the day.  The visit will include a short feedback meeting followed by a short written report sent to school no later than 10 working days after the visit.

The pre-assessment visit may consider the following in relation to the 14 award criteria, as detailed in the handbook:

  • implementation, planning and review of the award in school;
  • visual elements of the award through the tour of the school;
  • a sample of opinions and views from pupils and staff;
  • any area(s) of particular focus suggested by the school.

Cost £200 + pre-agreed travel expenses

Please email InvestorsinPupils@leeds.gov.uk to arrange.
